CSEC Chemistry · January 2006 · Paper 2 · Question 1(a)(v)
A student is provided with two solutions, X (aqueous sulphuric acid, 4.9 g dm⁻³) and Y (aqueous sodium hydroxide, 5.0 g of impure NaOH in 1 dm³). The student titrates X against 25.0 cm³ of Y to determine the purity of the sodium hydroxide. Figure 1 shows burette readings before and after each titration.
Write a balanced equation for the reaction between the sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions.
