4 marksMeasures of Central Tendency
CSEC Mathematics · January 2004 · Paper 2 · Question 7(a)
A table shows a grouped frequency distribution of marks scored by 40 students on a test, with an incomplete column of cumulative frequencies. Intervals: 1-5 (Freq 4, Cum Freq 4), 6-10 (Freq 5, Cum Freq 9), 11-15 (Freq 9), 16-20 (Freq 14), 21-25 (Freq 5), 26-30 (Freq 3).
Calculate the mean of the frequency distribution assuming that each mark within each interval has a value equal to the midpoint of the interval.
The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
