CAPE Physics Unit 2 · 2007 · Paper 2 · Question 6(c)(i)

A silicon diode with ideal forward-conducting threshold 0.7 V (Figure 7) is connected in series with a 1 kΩ resistor to an AC supply V_i = 1.5 sin(ωt) (Figure 6).

Find the peak value of the potential difference across the 1 kΩ resistor.
