A silicon diode with ideal forward-conducting threshold 0.7 V (Figure 7) is connected in series with a 1 kΩ resistor to an AC supply V_i = 1.5 sin(ωt) (Figure 6).

Calculate the peak value of the current I through the 1 kΩ resistor.
