A car is travelling along a level road at 50 km h⁻¹. The car speeds up to 80 km h⁻¹. The driver finds that she has to keep her foot pressed harder on the gas pedal if she wishes to stay at this speed.
Explain why the driver of the car must push harder on the gas pedal to keep the car moving at 80 km h⁻¹.
