CAPE Chemistry Unit 2 · January 2021 · Paper 2 · Question 6(a)(ii)

Some students investigated the action of dilute hydrochloric acid using a sample of solid sodium hydrogen carbonate. One of the students suggested that the reaction would yield a gaseous product.

A sample of the gas was collected in the laboratory by downward delivery. State the physical property of the gas which supports this method of collection.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
