Glass is a non-crystalline solid that melts over a wide temperature range, primarily composed of silicates (SiO₂). The chemical bonds within the SiO₂ tetrahedron vary in strength.
Suggest how the bonding in SiO₂ affects what happens when glass melts. Explain why this is important for blowing and moulding glass.
