CSEC Physics · May/June 2007 · Paper 2 · Question 2(b)(i)

A car moves from A towards C with a constant velocity of 30 m s⁻¹. The driver sees an obstruction at C as the car passes A. Due to reaction time, the car travels 27 m at the same velocity to B before brakes are applied. The car then decelerates uniformly to a halt at C, which is 54 m from B.

Calculate the reaction time of the driver.
