An electric train starts from rest and accelerates uniformly, attaining its maximum speed after travelling 0.5 km. It maintains this speed for 1.5 km and then, through constant retardation is brought to rest after a further 0.3 km.

Sketch a velocity-time graph for the motion of the train.
