CAPE Physics Unit 2 · 2002 · Paper 1 · Question 2(d)(iii)

A 3 μF capacitor is charged to a p.d. of 200 V, and a 1 μF capacitor is charged to a p.d. of 100 V. The capacitors are joined by wires of negligible resistance with plates of like charge connected together.

Calculate the final p.d. across the 3 μF capacitor.
