CSEC Mathematics · May/June 2007 · Paper 2 · Question 14(a)(iv)

A, B and C are three 2x2 matrices such that A = ((a, b), (c, d)), B = ((5, 3), (3, 2)) and C = ((14, 0), (-9, 5)).

Find the value of a, b, c and d given that 3A + B⁻¹ = C.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
