Question 4 is based on three documents relating to the Atlantic causes of the Industrial Revolution in Britain: Document I (evidence regarding Liverpool merchant John Hardman trading to Guinea and plantations), Document II (Charles Leslie on Jamaica's contribution to British wealth), and Document III (Petition of the Agent for Pennsylvania regarding colonial consumption of British manufactures).

With reference to Document I, explain why the Atlantic trade was profitable to British merchants in the eighteenth century.
