Figure 7 illustrates the lower section of a river course with a sewage treatment plant, a sampling point, and a swamp containing oysters.

Describe the pathway of heavy metal pollution in this section of the river, and use this information to explain why the concentration of heavy metals is much higher in the swamp's oysters than in the river water.
