Section A: Drama. Answer ONE question from this section. (25 marks allocated for content and 10 marks for structure, development and competence in the mechanics of writing).

With reference to William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' and the statement that 'The past plays an important role in The Tempest', write an essay in which you describe ONE incident that involved Prospero and ONE that involved Caliban in the past. Discuss how EITHER Prospero OR Caliban reacts to ONE of the past incidents described, and examine how Shakespeare uses the theme of forgiveness to convey his message to the audience.
