Section A: Drama. Candidates answer one question (either Question 1 or Question 2). For each question, 25 marks are allocated for content and 10 marks for structure, development and competence in the mechanics of writing (Total 35 marks).

Write an essay on William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' addressing the quotation regarding Ferdinand and Miranda's significance: describe one instance where Miranda is present and one where Ferdinand is present, discuss how one character responds to either Ferdinand or Miranda in one of these instances, and examine one dramatic technique Shakespeare uses to make the play appealing to audiences.
