With reference to Edwidge Danticat's 'Breath, Eyes, Memory' and the statement 'In Breath, Eyes, Memory Sophie likens some experiences to the breaking of chains', choose TWO female characters and, for EACH, describe the chains which bind her. Discuss ONE advantage of achieving freedom from the chains which bind her for ONE of the characters, and examine ONE technique used by the writer to portray the theme of freedom in the novel.
