University medical students investigated patients' knowledge of signs and symptoms of various cancers and diabetes, and possible prevention strategies. Preliminary studies in outpatient clinics involved males and females aged 45-64 in a Caribbean territory. Table 3 shows the results. Students also found family health history knowledge (of all known non-communicable disease history in immediate relatives) was equally low at 33% in males and females.

Using the data in Table 3 and the information provided, discuss the factors that may affect the distribution of diabetes and cancer in the Caribbean. You MUST present your response in complete paragraphs.
