During an experiment, 8% of vegetable seedlings produced will NOT survive transplantation. Fifteen seedlings are transplanted, and X is the number that do NOT survive.

Five hundred seedlings are sent to KG's Gardens. Determine the mean and the variance of the number of seedlings that will NOT survive transplantation, and find the probability that less than 55 seedlings will NOT survive transplantation.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
