Section A: Drama. Candidates answer one question (either Question 1 or Question 2). For each question, 25 marks are allocated for content and 10 marks for structure, development and competence in the mechanics of writing (Total 35 marks).

Write an essay on William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' discussing the statement that Shakespeare's presentation of Caliban evokes strong feelings. Describe TWO instances where Caliban is featured, discuss whether you agree or disagree with his actions in ONE of those instances, and examine how Shakespeare uses characterization to make the play appealing.
