CSEC Additional Mathematics · 2019 · Paper 2 · Question 1(b)(ii)

Two functions are given: g(x) = x² - x and h(x) = 2x - 3.

Given that hg(x) = 2x² - 2x - 3, show that the values of x, for which hg(x) = 0, can be expressed as (1 ± √7) / 2.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
