CAPE Physics Unit 2 · 2019 · Paper 2 · Question 1(d)(ii)

Electrons are ejected from the lower plate of a parallel plate capacitor with a 3 mm plate separation in a vacuum chamber. The ejected electrons have a range of energies and directions. The upper plate has a voltage of -3 V with respect to the lower plate.

Determine the MAXIMUM initial velocity of the electrons in (d)(i).
