Question 1 is based on three documents concerning the sixteenth-century Spanish conquest of Amerindians. Document I discusses changes in indigenous obligations and material lifestyle under Spanish rule. Document II describes the terrifying military appearance and weaponry of the Spanish conquerors. Document III details the devastation caused by the smallpox epidemic among the native population.

With reference to Document I, discuss THREE ways in which the lifestyles of the Amerindians on the mainland were changed by the Spanish conquest of their empires.
