Hydrogen, chlorine and nitrogen are diatomic gases. Chemical tests (lighted splint, moist litmus) can distinguish them.

Explain how the tests above can be used to distinguish among the gases, hydrogen, chlorine and nitrogen. Include observations in your answer.
