CAPE Chemistry Unit 1 · 2006 · Paper 1 · Question 7(c)(ii)

25.0 cm³ of the aqueous solution of M requires 24.80 cm³ of 0.02 mol dm⁻³ permanganate for complete reaction. The equation for the reaction is: 5 Fe²⁺(aq) + MnO₄⁻(aq) + 8H⁺(aq) → 5 Fe³⁺(aq) + Mn²⁺(aq) + 4H₂O

Calculate the number of moles Fe²⁺ in the 25.0 cm³ of aqueous M.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
