Section A – Drama: Candidates answer ONE question (35 marks total: 25 content, 10 mechanics/structure). Based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the quote regarding language and cursing.

Write an essay describing one incident where a character uses language to subdue and one incident where a character uses language to rebel. Discuss one character's response to one of the described incidents, and examine one dramatic technique Shakespeare uses to portray language as a tool of power.
