CAPE Biology Unit 2 · 2003 · Paper 1 · Question 1(a)

An experiment examining the source of oxygen in photosynthesis using isotopic labelling. Plant A was supplied with normal carbon dioxide and water labelled with radioactive oxygen atoms, while Plant B was supplied with carbon dioxide labelled with radioactive oxygen atoms and normal water.

Predict, with reasons, which photosynthetic product of Plant A will contain radioactivity.
