CSEC Physics · May/June 2005 · Paper 2 · Question 3(c)(iii)

A well-insulated hot water tank supplies hot water to a residential dwelling. The immersion heating element has a power rating of 2200 W, and the tank contains 125 kg of water at 28°C.

Calculate the heat capacity of the tank, assuming that the tank and the water reach the same final temperature of 58°C.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
