CAPE Chemistry Unit 1 · 2006 · Paper 2 · Question 9(b)(i)

A fourth compound, Z, (b.p = 97.2°C) forms a non-ideal mixture with water which boils at 88.1°C at 0.43 mole fraction of Z.

Construct the b.p / composition curve for the mixture of Z in water. Include in your diagram all data given, and label the two phases present.

The mark scheme is shown once you've answered.
