A procedure is used to determine the solubility of substance X in water at various temperatures. In Experiment 1, 2g of X is added to 4 cm³ water in a boiling tube. The tube is heated with stirring until all solid X dissolves. The solution is then cooled, and the temperature at which crystals of X first reappear is noted. Experiments 2 to 5 use 2g of X with different volumes of water, and the temperatures at which crystals reappear are shown in Figure 1.
Based on the graph in Figure 2, calculate the mass of X which would be deposited when 100 g of a solution of X at 60 °C is cooled to 40 °C.
