Andrew conducted two experiments to investigate the rate of reaction between magnesium and dilute sulfuric acid. Experiment 1 involved adding magnesium strips to 50 cm³ of 2 mol dm⁻³ sulfuric acid in a 250 cm³ conical flask, measuring the volume of gas produced over six minutes. Figure 1 shows some gas syringe measurements, and Table 1 on page 6 summarizes the data.
