To turn, an aeroplane must "bank" as shown in Figure V, so that the lift force is no longer vertical. Assume the aeroplane remains in level flight and travels at constant speed.

Draw a diagram like the one in Figure V with arrows to show the direction of the external forces acting on the aeroplane as it turns. On a second, similar diagram show the direction of the RESULTANT force acting on the plane.
