Mary invites Nicole to partner in opening a new beauty salon branch, showing her a shopping centre premises she claims to have rented. She prevents Nicole from looking inside by promising another visit and offering to show the lease agreement anytime. Relying on this, Nicole contributes $2,500. Six months later, the salon has not opened, and Nicole learns Mary never rented the premises.
